Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, the reasons it may be used, and the limited cases in which another party may receive it. By using Moniteau County Criminal History, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Moniteau County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the exchange. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, ordinary server records may collect technical details about the visit:

  • Page-view dates and times
  • The pages opened and time spent on them
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • The referring site, when supplied
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help show aggregate traffic patterns, such as which pages are used most and where visits end. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Route a submitted query to the selected search partner
  • Maintain site operation, speed, and availability
  • Diagnose errors and other technical problems
  • Measure which material visitors use
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Moniteau County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Moniteau County Sheriff, the Circuit Court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a file about another person. This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the chosen provider's privacy policy, including its retention and sharing terms. We do not control those practices. Review the provider's policy before sending a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links lead to government offices, court systems, state agencies, legal resources, and third-party services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy terms apply. Those terms should be read before personal information is shared.

Some advertising providers may use cross-site activity to select ads. That tracking is performed through their systems and policies.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

  • Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
  • Search partners processing a visitor's submitted query
  • Advertising networks serving content on the pages
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system can guarantee perfect security, so a breach or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.

Users Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary with a visitor's location. In Missouri, the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, concerns access to government records and does not turn this private site into a public custodian. Section 43.509 governs dissemination from the state criminal-history repository. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:

  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Ask what personal information is held
  • Seek deletion where the law permits it
  • Opt out of processing when an applicable right provides that choice

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. The current text and its effective date will be posted here.
