Terms of Use

These conditions govern each visit, search, and other use of Moniteau County Criminal History. Accessing the website signals acceptance of every term below. Anyone who does not agree must stop using the site.

NO FCRA USE. Moniteau County Criminal History is privately operated and has no government affiliation. The site and its advertising partners do not provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This is a Missouri records reference, not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no connection to Moniteau County, Missouri, or any government office. It neither stores official criminal records nor files documents, retrieves records, or performs official checks for a visitor.

Its material points toward the Moniteau County Sheriff, the Circuit Court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors to outside search services.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is permitted only if the visitor agrees not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, Missouri, or local law
  • Threaten, harass, stalk, or target any person with information found here
  • Rely on site content for a credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
  • Seek unauthorized entry to a system, account, or restricted area
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools through the pages
  • Disrupt access, overload the service, or interfere with another visitor

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information reached through this site may be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against a person. Such conduct may also violate criminal law. The restriction is especially important for the Missouri Sex Offender Registry, which exists for community safety and not retaliation, vigilante acts, blacklisting, or discriminatory treatment.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Moniteau County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It does not create a credit report, consumer report, or official background check. The site and its advertising partners do not offer tools intended to evaluate a job applicant, housing applicant, insurance risk, or creditworthiness. Data found here or through a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Make an employment or termination decision
  • Evaluate a renter or other housing applicant
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A lawful check for a regulated purpose must come from an authorized official channel or a consumer reporting provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Moniteau County charge, conviction, warrant, or Missouri expungement rule applies to a specific matter. Consult a licensed Missouri attorney for legal counsel.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." No warranty is made that:

  • An outside search result is accurate or complete
  • Information is current, error-free, or exhaustive
  • Pages will remain available without interruption
  • The website contains no bug, defect, or security weakness

Charges, dispositions, closures, and expungements can change a record. Gaps and delays are unavoidable. Nothing published here is an official statement from the Sheriff, a court, MSHP, or any government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government portals, legal resources, or commercial search services. The destination controls its own content, charges, availability, and data practices. We accept no responsibility for those outside services, and visitors should review their terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, site text, code, graphics, and logos belong to Moniteau County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, altered, distributed, or used to create derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the website, its information, or any linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by that visitor's use of the site or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with use of the site must be brought in a court located in Missouri.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the new text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended, limited, or terminated at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all other provisions remain effective. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.
